At Sail

We sailed our "bilingual" (US/Europe fit) Poco Andante across the Atlantic from Florida to the UK in 1998, and from there to Southern Italy (via 100 ports and anchorages)in 1999. In summer 2000 we shall be in Greece and Turkey. After five years sailing her, we know her well and are sure that she is fully equipped and suitable for any ocean passage - as well as being one of the most comfortable boats of her size. She sails well to windward. She was built to rugged standards in South Africa (based on a Bruce Roberts design) and was totally rebuilt internally by Eclipse Holdings in 1990.

She has a deep center cockpit and a stern arch (with davits)on which a variety of equipment is installed.
She is fitted with a multi TV & stereo for Europe, two heads, full standing shower w/on-demand hot water, etc.

Special equipment includes:
110v or 220v electrics
Inmarsat C (Trimble Galaxy Satellite Sys.)
Paratech sea anchor and a drogue
A ridiculously large inventory of spares
Installed duplicates of many working units,
e.g. wind generators, depth meters, knot meters,
GPS (4!), solar panels,freezer/refrigeration units
Avon RIB dingy & Mariner 15 hp outboard (both 99)
Sails include 2 main, genoa, working jib, yankee, staysail, storm jib and cruising chute.

We are retiring from sailing at the end of this summer and want to hand her over to a future owner as a fully fit going concern.

She is available from October 2000 (but can be seen before)and an American buyer will not have to sail the Atlantic to have a Mediterranean cruise!
