1982 Island Packet MK1,26ftLOA,beam 10ft6in, draft bd up 28in, bd dn 6ft 2in. 20 gal fuel, 30 gal water, holding tank 8 gal. Sloop rigged, fully battened main, 135 furling genoa, Shaeffer furling gear. Her sails have been properly cared for by a qualified loft. Both sails refinished in 1995. The fully battened main is contained by lazy jacks. New UV shield on headsail.Rotary swaged stainless standing rigging. Lewmar #6 winch on cabin top to allow main to be raised from cockpit. Two #16 self tailing primary winches.Rule 1700gph w/auto/manual switch. One Gusher diaphragm manual pump.Cabin layout:A generous :"V" forward of the starboard enclosed head. Head has vanity with sink and hand held shower with drain to the bilge. The head is Par electric with house sized seat. Salon has a fold down clamshell dinette table. 6 crewmembers may dine.With dinette table raised, the settees serve as a single berth to port and a pull out double to starboard. The galley has a SS sink with pressure and hand pump cold water. Origo #4000 2 burner alcohol stove with cutting board. Ther is generous storage for food,dinnerware and cutlery. A large built-in front opening ice chest to starboard of the companionway. On deck a very large cockpit with Edson wheel steering with raised teak helsman steering bench and two "tactician" custom teak chairs installed in each corner of the cockpit adjacent to the helmsman bench. Makes for wonderful crew visibility. A full bimini from transom to forward of the open hatch that may be partially opened over the cockpit for cruising under sail or totally downed except for the helmsman cover.This is the boat that got ISLAND PACKET started. She has traditional Cape Cod appearance but is a "cat sloop" similar to the boats made by John Alden. With her long waterline and "barn door" rudder, she is not only a great weekend retreat but also manageable with a good turn of speed.
